Students and staff at Gibbs High School were placed under a safety lockdown earlier today after local authorities responded to reports of a potential threat on campus.

Around mid‑morning, school administrators initiated a lockdown, a common safety protocol used to protect students and teachers when a possible danger is reported on or near school property. During a lockdown, doors are secured and students are kept inside classrooms until officials can assess the situation and provide an “all clear.”
